MORGANTOWN -- The developer of a $2 billion coal-fired power plant in northern West Virginia says the project has reached a key milestone.
Longview Power said Monday that its plant in Maidsville has begun generating electricity. Commercial operations are expected to begin this summer.
Longview Power says hiring for the 695-megawatt plant is nearly complete. The plant will have 96 employees.
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - West Virginia University says it's getting $5 million from coal company owner Chris Cline.
WVU says the give announced Thursday will be split between the medical school and basketball program.
